Five Ideas For Traffic Generation

If you are going to make money with affiliate marketing, you need traffic. If you have no traffic, then any way you look at it, your site doesn’t exist. The more traffic you have, the better your click ratio (number of clicks per visitor) and the better your chances are for a sale to be made. Here are five ways to send visitors to your site:

Blog – Blog stands for web log. It is a diary where you write articles of interest for your readers. Within your articles, you can link to a web site or directly to the landing page of the product (s) you are selling. Google loves blogs. The content is constantly changing. You can register for a free blog at www.blogger.com. You’ll find your blog coming up with a Google search within days.

Forums – Forums are a great way to promote your business in a place where you can ask questions and continue to learn. You can also help others who are less experienced than you. Develop your reputation at several forums. While you often can’t put your landing page link within the post, you can advertise it within your forum signature. Plus, you CAN put a link to a post within your blog. Drive traffic to your blog which will then drive traffic to your web site.

Viral Marketing – So called because, if it works well, it spreads like a virus. You can do something like give away an e-book and, at the end, have some links and/or an ad back to your product or service. You give permission for your readers to also give away the e-book. Watch this one spread!

Social Marketing – Whether you are on Facebook or MySpace, both can be used as a marketing tool. First develop a good reputation on the site. Be the person that others come to for opinions and answers to questions. Over time, you’ll be able to direct people to your site.

Article Distribution – This is a great way to drive traffic to your site. Write for free article sites like ezinearticles or goarticles. While you can’t link to a sales page within the article, you can have your links in the Author’s Resource Box that all article sites have. Can’t write or looking for new content? That’s why I love MoreNiche. It includes prewritten content that I can easily rewrite for my articles.
